Sugar Maple Rifle Blanks
Sugar maple (also called hard or rock maple) is one of the hardest woods used for gunstocks — the traditional choice for American longrifles, where its fiddleback figure flames dramatically under an oiled finish. Ours is sourced in Maine and air-dried for twenty years, which is exactly the kind of patience stock wood rewards.
Photos are taken with rubbing alcohol to preview the figure a finish will reveal. Every blank is photographed individually — how our grading works.
