About HunterBid

HunterBid is the online storefront of Chiron Inc., a family-owned company that has imported and distributed Turkish walnut gunstock wood since 1994. We buy wood in Turkey continuously, season and grade it ourselves, and hold stock in two warehouses — one in Istanbul and one in Dover, New Hampshire.

We see this business like an art gallery: a fine walnut blank is the best art form we know. Our customers range from large gun makers buying in volume to individual stockmakers and hobbyists choosing a single special blank — and both get the same wood, honestly graded and individually photographed.

How buying works

Everything in the shop is buy-now: reserve a blank on the site, receive a PayPal invoice within a business day, and we ship when it's paid. See a blank you love at a price that doesn't fit? Every listing also takes offers — we read each one and usually reply within a business day. One exceptional blank at a time is sold by auction instead — open ascending bids, no hidden reserve, and a 5-minute anti-snipe rule so the auction only ends after five quiet minutes.

Buying in volume, or looking for something not on the site? The warehouse holds far more than we list — contact us directly.
